Tips on How to Pick your Bridemaids

It’s an exciting time you will be marrying the man of your life. You have been planning this day since kindergarten. You know what style of dress you want, what the wedding colors are going to be, and where you want to honeymoon. But, you lay awake at night contemplating who you will pick to be bridesmaids. The problem isn’t that you don’t have friends, but that you have tons of them. You have collected them like designer shoes, some from high school, some college, and God knows where. And let’s not forget your family that expects to be a bridesmaid. Take inventory. Get a notebook and jot down the names of your best girlfriends. Think about the girls that you have written down and you’re self a few questions: how long have we been friends? can I count on her?, is she a drama queen?. Think of it like inspecting these ladies as if they are a piece of fresh fruit or groceries in a store. I have a few suggestions to help you shorten your bridesmaid’s list.

Five Tips for The Makeup Challenged Bride

You may wear makeup every day to the office - you smear on a little powder and lipstick and you’re on your way. It may be okay for everyday but not for your wedding day. Remember, you have hired a professional photographer, not a magician. In photos, your skin can appear pale, your eyes small, and, if you have thin eyebrows, they could disappear in the photos. You want to look your best, fresh-faced and youthful. I have gathered five tips that will aid you in quest to be fabulous on your wedding day.

1. Foundation: your options are powder liquid or powder. Powder foundation will give you a matte look, while the liquid will give you a dewy look. It’s up to you which look you are going for. The foundation will give your face an over all radiant appearance. Six months before your big day, shop around sample makeup counters. Choose makeup that is hypo allergenic. Look for a smooth application. It should feel light and not oily.

2. Eye shadow and liner: Is a must! If you don’t wear it - Start. Eye shadow comes in many different shades from nude to teal green. You may even want to incorporate your wedding colors. With liner, choose a shade that matches your hair color, but they also come in colors such a blue and green.
Maybelline at ShopStyle
3. Mascara: is meant to make your lashes look longer and more noticeable. I know you have seen the Revlon commercials. Mascara lifts and separates your lashes. You may also want to try false lashes, if you really want to make a statement.
Clinique at ShopStyle
4. Blush: never been a big fan of blush until recently. Find the right color like pink or peach, depending on your completion. It will give you a fresh youthful look.
Guerlain at ShopStyle
5. Lipstick: shop for your lipstick in advance. Again, try on shades that you love. Choose a color that you never thought of wearing. Wear that color all day. Did you get any compliments? You may even want to cut out pages from your favorite magazines of the colors you like take with you as you shop. Pair the lipstick up with a lip liner as close to the color of lipstick as possible. Good luck on finding what colors works for you. It’s not hard as you think. Take a friend with you, make a day of it. Good luck beautiful !
