4th of July Cookout Recipes

In a matter of days, the independance of the United States will be celebrated with cook-outs, fireworks, and everything red, white and blue. Whether you are releasing your own fireworks or venturing out to watch elsewhere, part of the day will probably be spent in front of the grill. From the Food Network, here are some delicious ways to reinvent the all-American classic recipes.

Shoesday Tuesday: BET Awards

Just days ago were the BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Making it into the best-dressed category was Alicia Keys, looking wonderful in a black and white Dolce & Gabbana menswear-inspired piece. With a relatively simple look, my eyes are drawn to those fabulous heels. She is wearing nearly $1,000 Christian Louboutin Daffodile Pony Zebra Print Pumps made with calf hair. Now that's a statement shoe.

Who won your vote for best-dressed at the 2011 BET Awards?

Shoesday Studs

This week's shoe obsession comes from Sam Edelman, straight from my favorite shoe source Statement Shoes. These beauties are from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection and are much less expensive than last week's find. The "Lorissa" Peep-toe Platforms will cost you about $225.00 and are widely available, coming in nearly ten colors.

An Evening in Paris

Tammy Edmond, Co-Creator of Events by WE, hosted an evening in Paris, only a little closer to home. Well, in her home actually and as a dinner with her favorite ladies. Each guest was served with a passport, designed by Kristen at 5 Dot Designs, that contained the menu, recipe for the main dish, and a thank you card written in both French and English. Here are some presentation highlights.

As the evening came to an end, each guest left with a little piece of Paris, some goodies from Sweet Petit Desserts. Next time, they're headed to Morocco!

Have you hosted a themed dinner with your ladies? Share your ideas, maybe you will be featured next!

Iris van Herpen X United Nude

It's Tuesday and there's really only one shoe on my mind. Nina Garcia, Fashion Director for Marie Claire and Project Runway judge, posted these beauties on her Tumblr not too long ago. I would tailor my entire wardrobe to be able to wear them as much as possible.

This is just a mere preview of what designer Iris van Herpen has to offer. The newest "Escapism Couture" collection is out of this world. However, this particular shoe comes from a collaboration with United Nude. Due to the level of detail, each shoe is hand-made, running close to $1,000 a pair. Did I mention it comes in different colors, too? As quoted from their website, with van Herpen, "normal rules don't apply."

Check it out in tan, white, and black/silver here.
