Josephine Baker Inspired Wedding

Posted by Picasa
Born in St. Louis Missouri on June 3, 1906, Josephine Baker grew up to become an Humanitarian, Civil Rights activist, and an Entertainer. She was the mother of 12 adopted children of different ethnicities, affectionally called the “Rainbow Tribe”. Josephine also helped in the war efforts in World War II. “Wow, what a woman!” Mrs. Baker was also known as The Bonze Venus, The Black Pearl, Creole Goddess, but she was best known in France as “La Baker”. Josephine is one woman of history that I would like to sit down with in a coffee shop and talk to. She was more than an entertainer; to me she was most of all “Fearless”. While reading about her life story and looking at her photos it just blows me away on how this petite woman changed the world. As a bridal planner, I always have many different ideas about themes and one-of-a kind events for my clients. I enjoyed working on this one. Enjoy! It was said that Mrs.Baker had received approximately 1,500 marriage proposals.

Brides Stress Free Wedding Planning

<span class=

Planning a wedding can be very hectic to say the least. Often Brides envision walking down the isle in your killer white dress and seeing the man of your life standing at the end of the isle teary eyed , and then the Big Kiss; not realizing what it takes to get you there.

Because we are BFF I will tell you, your family and your friends are going to increase they’re phone calls and give their input on how to plan your wedding day. Your Mother will say “don’t forget about your cousin Pete”, (yeah cousin Pete the one that ate his boogers until he was twelve and also save room for her friends from work) …and that’s only the day after you announced that you were planning the get married.

Take a deep breath, they mean well. I hear this all the time from Brides, one thing that you may want to do is, “Get Help”. No matter how smart and organized you are there are a lot of details that are involved and usually unless you can devote 50 hours a week to research and planning you are going to get stressed out. Even if you have Wedding Planner the details can make your eyes swim.

I have some tips that I think would help and may prevent you from “Clocking” on someone.

  • If your not a religious person you can still pray it’s no time like the present time to call on Jesus …. or if you would like meditate and reflect, it really could save a lot of heart ache for you or someone else…lol

  • Eat well, because you will be busy running from one appointment to another you will be tempted to pick up anything to eat, but don’t, choose healthy alternatives such as fruit or a salad, you could even pack a snack or keep it in your car so it will be their when you need it.

  • Treat yourself , get a manicure and pedicure, “it works for me”
Photobucket + Photobucket = RELAXTION
  • Pick up the latest glossy such as Vogue or Elle and a good wine and read and sip until your heart is content.

  • Exercise, I know you don’t want to heat it but it is a proven fact that exercise or even a long walk can relieve stress.

These are my suggestions but do what ever makes you happy, whatever you do stay a lady.

Eye Candy

Bridal Hair Styles

Ladies, let us talk about hair… Your hair should always compliment you. Enhance you natural beauty, not take over. You should never be able to look at a wedding picture and be able to remember the hottest song that was out that year, because of the hairstyle that you were wearing, you want your grand children to look back on your wedding pictures and say, “Grand ma you were beautiful”. “Do you know how those old Hollywood photos look,” timeless that is what you want. Here are a few tips you can use, Set up a consultation with your stylist, take with you a picture of the hairstyles and a picture yourself with your gown on, also let the stylist know if you are planning to wear a headpiece. This will help the stylist to visualize overall look you would like to achieve. Have a trial run take pictures of the hairstyle that you have chosen. Do not try to look like someone else, know that you are beautiful, work with your best assets, and do not look for a trendy style. Remember ladies that your hair is an accessory that we use to enhance not take over. Two words that you should remember when choosing your hairstyle is simple and elegant. For more questions about your weeding day hair needs you can contact one of our super stylist Faleeta Edmond of Artistic Creations (513)351-2140 let her know that Events By W.E. sent you. Smoochies

Wedding Day Wardrobe Malfunctions

Wedding Day Wardrobe Malfunctions The term Wardrobe Malfunction: an instance of accidental indecent exposure of intimate parts. The term was used by singer Justin Timberlake 2004 to explain the incident during Super Bowl XXXVIII in which Janet Jackson had bared one of her breast. It can happen to anyone, it has happened to countless stars on the red carpet and in front of the camera for all to see. Most of the time the flashy is unaware. I once sat across from a woman in a meeting and she partially came out of her dress, yes, one of her girls had peeked out to say hello. I was embarrassed for her. Since then I have been a fanatic on how to prevent this from happening. I would hate for this to happen to a bride her wedding day. We have put together a few tips and couple of products that will aid you in having a flawless look. *Pick a wedding gown that you love and feel comfortable in, but make sure that you are not over exposing your self. *When choosing your gown have a good friend with you that will be brutally honest. *You may want to have your final alterations done to your dress two weeks before the wedding, many brides lose weight before their weddings because they are running around tying up loose ends before the big day. *Try on your gown, jump up and down, hell go ahead and do the "stanky leg". If the dress shifts around or something falls out, “it very likely that you are going to have a wardrobe malfunction". * Don't be cheap when purchasing your undergarments, go to a department store, get measured, the sales woman will tell you the proper way to try on a bra; also consider getting a nude color that matches your skin tone. We have selected some of our favorite apparel that will help you stay in control. e-mail us the ways that you keep your "girls" in check.
