This year you want to make your corporate event extra special and invite the entire family and want the parents to be at ease because their children are close by,or make a wedding a joy for the little ones while mom and dad do the electric slide. Whatever the case many times parents have to decline an invite because of babysitting issues. It maybe that the parents feel guilty about leaving the baby home while at a special event.
I know a simple solution,hire event sitters. We learned about this service a couple of years ago and it is becoming very popular in the special events industry. It is a fairly new service and more and more people are hiring event sitters to entertain the children while the adults have a good time.
We had the pleasure of meeting Tish Davis the owner of Elegant Event Sitters at an event her company was hired for.Tish was full of energy and pleasant, she was very excited about the kids coming for the 2nd day of an event were the parents attended a conference.
The children were served breakfast then kept busy making Father's Day cards, the smaller children were in the next room playing with toys and listening to nursery rimes. It was great,the children were fine and the adults just two doors down enjoying a corporate function. I thought to myself this is a simple solution to an old age problem. 1- How long have you been a event sitter? I’ve been in business for 6 years.
2- Since you've started event sitting, how common has event sitting become? Event sitting has really started gaining popularity. More brides are looking to provide a fun alternative for the young guests.
3- How did you come up with such a creative idea of event sitting? Actually the idea was not mine but after I heard about the concept, I knew that it would fill a need in the wedding and event industry. As a single mom, I understand needing a sitter in order to attend a special event.
4- Are you a traveling event sitting company? We work nationwide and have teams in about 18 states right now. New markets are being added all of the time. The teams are local to their coverage area so that clients don’t incur travel fees.
5- How much notice do you need for booking a wedding? We have several sitters available in each market so we can book as late as 2 weeks in advance. Our dates fill up quickly, so the earlier the better.
6- What kind of fun things can a potential client expect from Elegant Event Sitters? Our sitters entertain the children with face painting, arts and crafts, karaoke, games, toys and a lot more.
